EDMONTON - Edmonton renters will again pay double-digit rent increases this year, says a new multi-family housing report by real estate company Cushman & Wakefield.
It will be the 13th year in a row that rents have gone up.
But the good news is that the projected average hike of 14.6 per cent won't sting quite as badly as last year when average rent increase jumped 18.2 per cent, the report said.
In 2006, rents went up by an average of 9.9 per cent. In the past five years, the average annual rent increase was 6.6 per cent.
