The Edmonton Social Planning Council sent out the survey Wednesday to hundreds of Edmontonians.
Along with being dropped off at 300 apartment buildings, the questionnaire was also circulated to local students and through the Edmonton Public Library.
By Thursday, more than 120 people had already responded. Of those, 47% said their rental situation is worse than last year, 35% said it is about the same and only 19% feel it has improved.
That's despite a national housing slowdown that has put the brakes on Alberta's hot real estate market. Edmonton sales were down 30% last month from the same time last year.
